Science has taught us over time that small variances in the interactions of an organisms systems and components can yield largely different results. Tracking and understanding the complexities of these system interactions are at the core of systems biology, and prove to be its biggest challenge.

The study of systems biology has been largely aided by the availability of massive amounts of expert knowledge and “Omics data”. The complex biological data stored in bioinformatics databases often requires the addition of knowledge to specify and constrain the values held in that database – which is core to what we do with HARVEST™.
